Application Prerequisites
1. Healthy, non-Chinese citizens, foreign passport holders with senior high school diploma (or above)
2. Applicants of mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan who have immigrated to other countries should meet the conditions set by the “Document No. 83 (2009) of Ministry of Education of the PRC .pdf"
Application Materials
Senior high school diploma or equivalent (2017 Graduating students should provide an official statement from school as proof of graduation);
Official transcripts (or equivalent) from your high school, including all courses taken;
HSK Certificate or other certificates to prove your Chinese language proficiency (optional).
For applicants applying for transfer into second year of Undergraduate Program of Chinese Language, a minimum requirement of HSK 5 (230 scores or above) is required.
Applicants applying for exemption from the entrance tests should provide relevant certificates (See " Entrance Exam Exemption Requirements ");
Copy of Passport;
Application fee CNY 800 (approx.US$ 120);
Applicants under 18 years old should provide a "Guardian Guarantee Statement.pdf".

Applying for Exemption: 0:00am, December 01st, 2016 to 24:00pm, May 31st, 2017 (Beijing Time, GMT+8)
Applying for Entrance Exam: 0:00am, March 28th to 24:00pm, April 7, 2017 (Beijing Time, GMT+8)
Note:
All of the applicants should apply online at http://apply.sjtu.edu.cn and upload the scanned application materials mentioned above before the deadline.
The application system is only available within the required application periods written above.
For any unsuccessful applications caused by personal reasons, application fee will not be refunded.
Entrance Exam Exemption Requirements
1. Students who wish to apply for exemption from the entrance exam should qualify the following requirements (prove at least one of the following):

2. Students who wish to apply for exemption must provide certificate to prove their level of Chinese language skill (provide at least one of the following):

♦All the tests are closed-book, and in Chinese;
♦ Students applying for test category of science only need to choose two subjects from physics, Chemistry and Biology;

Admission Policies
1. Applicants who satisfy the exemption requirements will be accepted.
2. Applicants who get sufficient scores on the Entrance Test will be accepted.
3. Applicants who have various awards can get additional scores after the certification materials are approved by the university. Please bring the original award certifications with you at the time of registration.
