Doctoral and master's degree thesis are the main basis for judging the academic level of degree applicants and awarding their degrees. They are also important documents in the field of scientific research. In order to standardize the format of doctoral dissertations and master's dissertations of our university, according to the national standard "rules for writing dissertations of dissertations", this guide can be used for the writing of doctoral and master's dissertations.
Ⅰ、 Basic requirements of Dissertation
A dissertation must be a systematic and complete academic paper (or one composed of a group of papers). It is the research achievement independently completed by the degree applicant under the guidance of the tutor. No plagiarism or plagiarism is allowed. The academic viewpoint of the dissertation must be clear, correct, rigorous, reliable, clear and smooth. In general, dissertations should be written in Chinese.
A master's degree thesis requires new ideas or new achievements in the research subject, and has certain significance for the development of the discipline, economic construction and social progress. It shows that the author has mastered solid basic theory and systematic discipline knowledge, and has the ability to engage in academic research or undertake specialized technical work. Doctoral dissertations require innovative achievements in materials, perspectives, viewpoints, methods, theories, etc. or some aspects of the research subject, and are of great significance to academic development, economic construction and social progress. It shows that the author has a solid and broad basic theory and systematic in-depth discipline knowledge, and has the ability to independently engage in academic research.
The use of language, punctuation marks, numbers and units of measurement should be standardized in the dissertation. The terms, symbols and codes used must be unified and conform to the standards.
Ⅱ、 Components of Dissertation
The dissertation should include the following parts in turn:
1. Cover: the cover of dissertation uniformly printed by the University.
2. Title page, original statement and use authorization
3.Abstract: abstract is a summary of the content of a dissertation. It should highlight the creative achievements or new ideas of the dissertation, and state the research purpose, content, method, achievement and conclusion of the dissertation. At the bottom of the summary page, the key words (4-6) of this article are indicated. The English abstract should be consistent with the Chinese abstract.
4.Table of contents: the table of contents is not only the outline of the paper, but also the subheadings of each part of the paper. It should be listed and marked with page numbers in turn.
5. Symbol description (not necessary): the explanation of the meaning and unit (or dimension) represented by the symbol in the paper.
6. Text The text is the main body and core part of a dissertation, which generally includes the following aspects:
(1) Introduction: the beginning of the main part of the dissertation should be concise and comprehensive, and should not be the same as the abstract or become the annotation of the abstract. In addition to explaining the purpose, methods and results of the study, it is also necessary to review the research status at home and abroad and the existing research results in related fields; introduce the premise and task of this research, the theoretical basis and experimental basis, the scope and expected results, and the problems solved on the basis of the existing research.
(2) Each specific chapter: the content must be realistic, objective and true, accurate and complete, logical, clear-cut, concise and readable. Different disciplines may have different regulations. But we must strictly follow the international academic norms of this discipline
(3) Conclusion: it is the final and general conclusion of the dissertation, which should be refined, accurate and complete. This paper focuses on the creative achievements of the author's research and its significance in this field, and further puts forward the problems and suggestions that need to be discussed.
7. References: the thesis should be written with a rigorous and realistic scientific attitude. If there is any citation of other people's achievements, it should be listed at the end of the paper according to the citation standards of different disciplines.
8. Notes (not necessary): can be used as footnotes to describe separately at the bottom of the page.
9. Appendix (not necessary): it is a supplementary project to the subject of dissertation.
10. Thanks: a record of the author's gratitude to the organizations and individuals who provided help and support for the completion of the thesis.
11. Contents of academic papers and scientific research achievements: the academic papers published (or employed) during the period of studying for the degree, the obtained scientific research achievements, patents, etc.
Ⅲ、 Requirements for typesetting, printing and binding of Dissertations
1. Font size: the first level title is in bold type 3; the second level title is in bold type 4; the third level title is small 4 bold type. The text is in song style with small four or five.
2. The charts, notes, references and formulas in the paper are all numbered in Arabic numerals (or chapters). The order and name of the figure are placed at the bottom of the figure; the order and name of the table are placed at the top of the table; the number of the formula in the paper is enclosed in brackets and written at the end of the right line without dotted line.
3. Printing: dissertations are typeset in A4 paper and printed on both sides.
4. Binding: the filing paper must be bound into volumes by the cover and thread of the dissertation uniformly printed by the University.
